Manual Handling Course

Manual handling relates to all aspects of lifting, lowering, pushing, pulling and carrying. All have risk factors that can lead to injury, and can result in time taken off work.

As an employer it is your responsibility to reduce the risk of injury through manual handling training. The resulting benefit for you is a healthy and happy workforce, and less sick leave.

Description

Short, practical course which benefits any business or individual involved with lifting or moving objects. Suitable for those working in factories, shops, warehouses and those carrying out deliveries, removals etc.

The highest percentages of injuries in the workplace are caused by back injury, and the majority are due to poor lifting techniques. More than a third of ‘over 3 day’ injuries are related to poor manual handling.

If poor lifting techniques are causing so many injuries and sick leave, then it makes sense to undertake training to counteract this imbalance. Manual handling training can help educate individuals to understand why and how injuries happen, identify risk factors and learn correct lifting techniques to help stop injuries occurring.

All employers should consider training in moving and handling as part of every new employee's induction. We offer courses for workers in factories, shops and warehouses and also for those involved in the delivery or removals industries. Onsite Manual Handling Courses can be tailored to suit your specific requirements and can generally be fitted in to suit your working day.
