FREE Parent First Aid

Voluntary donations in aid of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Charitable Trust Registered Charity: 1049424

Mel and Adam Holmes, Directors of ATH Training Training Group Ltd, are offering free lessons to parents to teach them paediatric life-saving skills and inviting participants to make a donation to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Basildon University Hospital.

Director, Adam, said; “We have been delivering first aid training all over Essex and Suffolk for five years now, and realised that whilst we meet the needs of many teachers, coaches, and other professionals involved with children and babies, parents would also benefit from lifesaving knowledge so that, should they find themselves in a life threatening situation, they could act quickly and effectively. We are personally indebted to NICU at Basildon Hospital as our own son Austin was a premature birth and we are so grateful for the wonderful care and support we received there that we would like to give something back to the unit. This scheme is a win, win situation which helps parents to keep their children safe, and raises funds for the unit at the same time. We are proud that Basildon Hospital has welcomed our initiative.”

The first course is scheduled for Friday September 23^rd at 7.00pm in Chelmsford and will cover infant and child specific CPR, choking, meningitis, febrile convulsions, burns and will be followed by a question and answer forum.

Further courses are planned every month throughout 2017 and are absolutely free. The donation to NICU at Basildon Hospital is voluntary. Adam added; “We are not restricting the scheme to direct parents, Uncles, Aunts, Grandparents etc. are all welcome.”
